The National Association of University Women
Southwest Section Youth Conference
Joint Effort with El Camino College × Compton Educational Center
Location: El Camino College × Compton Educational Center

Purpose of the Youth Conference.  The purpose of the youth conference is to provide an opportunity for middle and high school students to be exposed to educational opportunities afforded to them.  Students will be provided with information about colleges, both state and private colleges.

Method.  Each NAUW Branch will bring 5 or more students. Each Branch is asked to pay $100.00 to support the conference.  Personal visits will be made to the high schools in the Compton District.  Letters will be sent to members of Young Black Scholars to invite them to the conference.
The goal is to ensure that there are more than 100 students in attendance.

Program and Activities.  The program will begin with a continental breakfast followed by introductions.  Students will be divided into groups and escorted to classrooms to hear of topics related to the college experience.  Topics are currently being planned with the information provided at the Southwest Section Executive Board meeting.
